Back to the Future

Dearest Claire,

You will be here in 3 months, wow, time is flying by!

As your mother is a history teacher, I think it is important to let you know that the year of your birth marks a historical occasion. The catholic church's pope is resigning from office, this has not happened in 500 years. So there, you are not even born yet, and already learning trivia.

Speaking of your mother, you are probably starting to hear her more and more. If you hear such phrases as "no, no, no, no" , "watch out, no", "they keep doing that", etc...that is simply your mother playing Mario Kart 7 on Nintendo 3DS. Believe it or not, we purchased 3DS with you in mind, it has a lot of fun interacting & coloring tools that you should love someday. Your cousins love it.

Daddy is continuing to go to the gym as much as possible. Primarily to stay healthy, but also because I want my energy levels to be up when you arrive. I expect to sleep less, so every energy increase helps.

We picked out your crib. All that is left is to order it and for daddy to build it for you. We're waiting for our tax return to order it and it is taking forever! You'll learn more about taxes after your first paycheck from your first job. I will be ready to hug you and agree at how cruel life is.

Tomorrow (valentines day) your mother and I are going to tour the hospital that you will be born at. Mommy will be creating memories of the beauty of the facilities, while daddy will be memorizing the driving route so I can deliver you and mommy to your accommodations on time.

Next we will look into which pre-delivery classes to take for mommies and daddies. The mommies classes focus on breathing and how to get through the delivery. The father's classes focus on enduring verbal assault & sailor like cursing from mommies, at least until after the baby is born.

We took pictures of your mommy's tummy finally. You will definitely be able to tell that you are in there. You are moving a lot more too, a 'dance party' as your mother says.

Talk to you soon baby girl.

Love, Daddy

P.S. Another of your father's favorite movies 'back to the future', has become the subject for this post. Which is actually fitting, considering history repeating itself in the catholic church, don't you think?
